Savannah, has a happy, bubbly personality much of the time, has a nice sense of curiosity and interest in the world around her. An outgoing child, she engages fairly easily with others. While she is very capable of entertaining herself for hours at a time coloring, playing with her Barbie dolls, and watching cartoons, she also enjoys lots of physical activity, such as riding her bike, shooting baskets, and playing outdoor games.
Savannah needs adoptive parent(s) who will re-claim her as their own and guide her into experiencing her world as a place of security, safety, acceptance and love. She needs strong, confident adults that will help to lessen her feelings of anxiety and discover for her ways to building secure, stable relationships with caring and loving adults. Structure, a very consistent daily routine with clear rules, expectations, and limits will be essential in helping her settle in and learn healthy, positive behaviors.
Savannah’s adoptive parent(s) should have a good grasp of the residual effects that may be related to prenatal exposure to alcohol and drugs; being strong advocates for educational, developmental, and her mental health needs will all be important in assisting Savannah to be successful in realizing her full potential.
