Bulletin #13103

Meet Cierra and Asia! These sisters are two attractive, intelligent, energetic girls with lots of heart and potential and great unique personalities to match. When asked about what's important to them, both girls say, ''I want to live with my sister.''

Cierra is a very bright 9 year old girl with energy to burn. She is learning to take care of her very curly hair by herself, although she still needs help and supervision. Cierra loves school and enjoys learning and is a quick study; she still remembers how to write many Chinese characters from a previous program she was in and liked being in a school musical this year.

A great way for Cierra to control her energy is to stay physically active. She enjoys swimming, gardening, ballet, Tae Kwon Do, or gymnastics class, art, and playing on the computer. She likes to ride her bike and always remembers her helmet. Despite living through some very difficult situations and experiencing some profound losses both in and out of foster care, Cierra has kept herself together quite well and is very resilient.

Asia is 5 years old. She has been saying she is 5 since she was 4! Asia has been in preschool and Head Start and, like her sister, loves to learn and is a quick study. Asia is also not afraid to speak up for something she believes in; when she's upset, she will muster up all of the courage her little body can hold and say, ''That's not ok!'' Asia is a very good eater and sleeper, and, also like her sister, needs lots of physical activity to keep her busy. Asia has been in ballet, swimming, and martial arts.

She will start Kindergarten in the fall. Asia also loves to play dress up (especially if princess or dance clothes are involved) and to put on makeup. At night when she goes to bed Asia likes to be read a story and have the light left on after being tucked in. She can take some time to go to sleep.

Cierra and Asia should be either the only children or the youngest children in the home. Their therapeutic supports should continue to help each child strengthen their boundaries, learn personal safety, and make safe decisions. Being willing to participate with the girls in family counseling during the adoption transition will demonstrate the adoptive parents' level of commitment to and support for Asia and Cierra. Consistent supervision and a strong safety plan in the home will also be necessary for the girls' health and well-being.

Asia and Cierra are two great little girls. Stability, safety, love, and guidance will help them feel secure and will be the keys to helping each child realize their full potential.
