FAMILY FINDING PROGRAM
Heart Gallery of Lane County and A Family For Every Child are pleased to bring Kevin Campbell and his Family Finding Training to Lane County.
The focus of the program is to help find positive connections for children that have been in care the longest. We will be searching for lost family and friend connections. It makes a huge positive difference for a child if there is even one permanent supportive person in his or her life.
We will start with a family finding/connection search.
DHS will provide a team facilitator as well as other forms of support for our volunteers who will do the majority of the work in conjunctions with the caseworkers.
We have been asked to participate in a Nations wide research project that Casey Families is sponsoring to gather data about different communities using the Family Finding techniques.
Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Lane (as the rural representative) will be among the participates. The results of this study will be used in congressional hearing to attempt to promote the use of Family Finding on a National Level. Giving us the opportunity to make a name for our organization and the Lane County DHS.
