District 7 - Coos and Curry Counties

Foundations training is required for all foster care and adoption applicants as well as
relatives or family friends who have been certified on an emergency basis and have not
attended the training.

Coos County

All adoption training is hosted by DHS at the North Bend Sheridan Building,
2025 Sheridan Avenue, North Bend, OR 97459. Attendance at all five sessions
is required in order to complete this training requirement.

Adoption Orientation

Foundations in Foster Care and Adoption Training is scheduled as below. Lunch
on April 24 will be a potluck and lunch on May 1 will be on your own.

July 29                 Session III           6:00 to 9:00 pm

August 3              Session V             6:00 to 9:00 pm

 October 21          Session I              6:00 to 9:00 pm
October 23          Session II             9:00 am to 4:00 pm                
October 28          Session III           6:00 to 9:00 pm
October 30          Session IV            9:00 am to 4:00 pm
November 2         Session V             6:00 to 9:00 pm            

Contact your adoption worker or your foster care certifier to confirm which sessions you still need to attend. Adoption applicants should speak with your adoption worker about training requirements other than Foundations.
