Klamath and Lake County
Foundations training for foster, relative and pre-adoptive families. The purpose of these presentations is to help those who attend make well-informed responsible decision to either foster or adopt children in the State's system. Class attendance is ths first requirement in this process. Completion of all sessions is required by each adult caregiver. Class participation is part of this process, so keep in mind that no question is ever foolish, so please ask. It is important to attend the entire series. Skipped classes could slow the certification process.
All sessions are held at the DHS-Child Welfare office. Park in the back parking lot (which faces the Post Office) and follow the signs. Daycare is not provided. Discuss class attendance by children with your certifier.
All sessions count toward continuing education for existing certified parents(s). This is a good way to refresh your knowledge and attendance will count toward your biennial 30-hours of continued training. If you are unsure if you need to attend any session, please call your certifier.
FOUNDATIONS TRAINING MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN ONE YEAR OF INITIAL CERTIFICATION
Please call to obtain specific training dates, locations, and times
