JordanBriannaJordan, Brianna & Shasta

Bulletin #12675

Meet Brianna, Jordan and Shasta. They are a spunky bunch, filled with affection, a passion for living in the moment and a desire to find their forever family.

Brianna is an initially shy 12-year-old with brown hair, hazel eyes and freckles. However, underneath this shy girl is an amazing young lady bursting with a desire to love and be loved. Brianna is responsible and kind and has an instinctive ability to read people far beyond her years. Brianna does not have athletic inclinations as she is gravitating more towards the arts. She likes music, shopping, makeup and generally all things "girly."

Brianna is a motivated student who applies herself and can grasp new concepts. The intervention of a tutor and the opportunity to have extra time in class to complete tests has helped dramatically. It is anticipated Brianna will be performing at grade level by year's end. Brianna does fairly well with her peers. She is more likely to have a small, closer-knit group of friends as opposed to being popular all across the school.

Jordan is a very energetic, generally happy kid who is all boy. Bikes, soccer, mud, if you can get dirty doing it then most likely he likes it! Jordan enjoys playing video games, listening to music and, if you catch him at the right time, will do silly dances and sing songs.

Jordan is a very smart young man who excels in school. He is an excellent student, routinely receiving A's and high B's. Jordan is a voracious reader and gets through books very quickly. In terms of interactions with peers, Jordan gets along very well with his peers and is a super citizen at school. Jordan is generally a self-starter who responds positively to consistency, structure, boundaries and positive reinforcement. He likes the opportunity to be independent, but reintegrates back into the family structure well.

Shasta is a very cute, caring, engaging and occasionally sassy young lady. She loves all and wants to be loved back just the same. She cares deeply for her siblings as they have been the most consistent part of her life. Shasta does not really understand the circumstances that are occurring in her life right now, however she is very willing to explore the feelings surrounding those issues. Shasta recently had her tonsils and adenoids removed. The hope is this will alleviate some of the breathing difficulties and snoring symptoms that she exhibits at night.

Shasta enjoys school very much. Ask her to read a story and her face lights up with joy. Her reading, writing and math skills are developing at an age-appropriate pace.

A home filled with love, consistency, boundaries, more love, positive role modeling and even more love will make all the difference in these children's lives.

 Welcome Cornerstone Cafe and Bakery

We at A Family For Every Child and the Lane County Heart Gallery want to announce the milestone of one of our own.  Stephenie (our faith based venue coordinator) and her husband JD Van Heck are opening a new restaurant and I know we will all want to support them both as they have ALWAYS supported us.  And on top of their new restaurant they are going to be a Heart Gallery Venue as well.  So please watch for the Cornerstone Cafe & Bakery and please support 2 of our very dedicated team members!

"Cornerstone Cafe & Bakery" will be opening June 9th in Crescent Village, the new urban living neighborhood off of Crescent Avenue.

The menu focus will be *FRESH *LOCAL *AUTHENTIC,  featuring artisan style sandwiches- both hot and cold, scratch made soups and big green leafy salads as well as deli style salads. Cornerstone will be a full bakery, baking all their own breads and pastries. They will serve espresso and breakfast items and have all menu items available to go. The owners are excited to be able to incorporate many Lane County products in the menu, field greens, fresh spinach and other organic produce from local farmers as well as NW and Oregon grown meats.  The interior decor is a mix of modern and old European style, the art on the walls will feature portraits from the Lane County Heart Gallery as well as a unique "Community Cornerstone" wall with four featured portraits of local people who make our community work!  These and the Heart Gallery portraits will be changed several times a year.  Watch the web site for menu specifics: http://cornerstonecafebakery.com/
