TIME: 9AM—1PM, one Saturday a month

Agenda:

  • DHS Orientation
  • File Mining
  • Internet Research
  • Contact/Connection
  • Follow up
File Mining:
Research DHS files for
information. Spend 1-3 hours a week at a DHS office.
Contact/Connection Volunteer:
Call identified potential family or other individuals associated with the foster child (or children) in your case at your home at your
convenience.
Internet Research:
Be a detective!
Search for lost connections for foster children. Spend 1-6 hours a week / or per case at your own home on your own computer.


Volunteers may do one or all of the steps in the process. Everyone who volunteers in the Family Finding program must complete an AFFEC application, a background check and training.

Family Finding Brainstorming Sessions


Come join other Family Finders to discuss issues, share successes,bring questions and simply brainstorm about your case. Perhaps you have a suggestion to make the process easier. Maybe you have problems or concerns that you want to ask about.
