Family Finding - How We Help

Family Finding is a partnership of DHS, CASA and A Family for Every Child. We are working together to build support systems for foster youth to enable their future success. Teens age out of the foster care system at the age of 18. Many have nowhere to go and no one to turn to. They are less likely to succeed as productive members of society due to their lack of support. Our teams work together to find relatives who have lost contact with the youth. Through the Family Finding program, often over 50 relatives are found. Some of these relatives offer a place for the youth to go on holidays. Take them to family reunions, help them get through college, even become a permanent placement. Teens also report a deeper understanding of who they are and a greater sense of belonging. This is an exciting new program that has found success around the country. We are making history with our forward strides to build support for foster youth. Consider joining our team.
