Heart Gallery Adoption Agency

The Heart Gallery Adoption Agency exists to help children waiting in foster care find their “Forever Families.”  We strive to place children in permanent homes with foster to adoption.
Become an adoptive parent and give a child the love they deserve!

WHY NOT YOU?

Have you ever thought of adopting a child but wondered if you were the “right” person?  YOU ARE!  Maybe you are worried that you don’t make a lot of money?  IT DOESN’T TAKE A LOT...  Or think that you need to own your own home? YOU DON’T!  Or perhaps you are a single parent wondering if adoption can work for you?  IT CAN!  Maybe you live in another state and have been touched by one of Oregon’s waiting children?  WE’LL WORK WITH YOU!

Family

The Heart Gallery Adoption Agency recognizes that “Forever Families” come in all shapes and sizes.  We are an inclusive agency and know that kids never outgrow the need for a “forever family.”  Please contact us if you think adoption might work for you; we can answer any questions you have or discuss concerns.

Family

Heart Gallery Adoptions is different than many existing agencies because is focuses entirely on "special needs" adoptions.  Most of these children are over 6 years old, part of a sibling group, have some physical, mental or emotional disabilities, or are part of an ethnic minority.  Unless they find their forever families soon, these children will likely spend the rest of their childhood in multiple foster care placements.  Of special concern are children at risk of “aging–out” of foster care.  Once these children reach 18, their foster families and the State of Oregon no longer have to give them assistance.  Left to fend for themselves, these hardest to place children have been in the system the longest and because they lack the family support system that most young adults take for granted, they face a higher risk of dropping out of school, homelessness, poverty, and young parenthood.  They do not have any more time to wait!  We know, from working with many families over the last several years, we have a role to play in bridging the gap between really wonderful families and really wonderful children!

Our Services:
The Heart Gallery Adoption Agency commits to supporting Oregonian children, and potential parents throughout the United States, in their search for each other.  Heart Gallery Adoptions can provide either a home study for a family just starting the adoption process or provide updates, renewals, and reviews for those already in the process.  We also provide committee representation in Oregon for in-state families that we have studied and out-of-state families who have been identified as a prospective match by the Department of Human Services.  The Heart Gallery Adoption Agency guides prospective parents through the process of a "special needs" adoption at all stages in the process!

Our Unique Approach:
In addition, Heart Gallery Adoptions works in conjunction with all of the programs offered by A Family for Every Child to find “Forever Families” for waiting children.  At A Family For Every Child, our Family Finding Program might locate relatives who would enthusiastically about adopting an extended family member, while our Mentor Program also helps create relationships and bonds for a “Forever Family.”  Additionally, opur Child-Specific Recruitment Program exhaustively searches for resources for each and every child referred and the Heart Gallery displays framed portraits in public areas to create community awareness.   Whatever the needs, our unique, child-centered approach creates an individualized adoption experience for the children and families we serve.
