Christy Obie-Barrett, the Executive Director created the agency through dedicated
and insightful leadership. She brings the unique perspective of an adoptive parent, a
business person and a community partner together to motivate others toward positive
outcomes for children. Christy is President-Elect of the Heart Gallery of America for the 2010-2012 term.

Angela Norman became Executive Assistant in December 2008 and recently
moved into the Heart Gallery Coordinator position. She came to us from the
Hospitality Industry where she worked 10+ years, but she’d joined our team
much earlier serving as a Family Finder volunteer. She is also involved in “Bags of Love”
for children in crisis, making quilts. Angela is well versed in AFFEC’s programs and
can be reached on our main office line, , Mon-Fri from 8:30am-5pm

Helen Lucas

Helen Lucas, our Family Finding Director blends her community service experience
with a business background in communications and computers. She began her career
in the telephone industry working in every position from customer support to
engineering, training and sales. Using her passion to serve children, she is a CASA
volunteer, past president of her Rotary Club and current District Membership Chair;
past president a Girl Scout Council; past president of Committed Partners for Youth;
and a former Exchange Student program coordinator. She served as 1994 Campaign
Chairperson for United Way in Jackson County and has served on several boards in
Eugene. She and now manages a group of volunteers, in partnership with DHS, using
a variety of resources to find safe relatives for children in foster care.

Valerie Pitcher, our Recruitment Specialist graduated from The State University of
New York with a degree in Human Development. She worked for 10 years with DHS
in Oregon as a case worker and a Consultant, Education, Trainer. She has been a
foster parent and has extensive experience working with non-profit agencies in
New York, California and Oregon.

Jennifer has been working with A Family For Every Child for more than 3 years. She blended her professional experience of managing data with her first-hand knowledge of the adoptive process to help in creating the AFFEC/Heart Gallery website, an important and family friendly tool designed as a bridge between children, families and case workers. As the new matching director she is committed to assisting families, caseworkers and adoption workers in the effort to place children in adoptive homes.

Molly Barrett works with the Matching Assistance Program. Molly has been with us since February 2009. She attends the University of Oregon working towards a major of Family and Human Services. Molly has nine adopted siblings, therefore she is very familiar with the adoption process and is happy to answer any questions or just supply a listening ear.

Scott Corcoran
Web Developer

Scott Corcoran, our part-time web programmer graduated with a
degree in Math from UCLA. He worked 15 years as a scientific and system programmer
in California before starting to dabble with the www in North Carolina in 2007.
Since that time he has put up 3 websites and maintains 3 websites for Heart Gallery
of America. If you find an error or would like to help overhaul the website, please
let him know!
